Charles as a Leader
Leading a team of creatives comes naturally to me. I am the type of leader who values the growth and development of my teammates. Getting the best work out of creatives is a delicate dance. People have vastly different leadership needs. Some need hard timely based feedback with concrete examples. Others need a gentle hand to keep them on track when they’re lost in the void of over-explaining and over-writing. But deadlines exist for a reason, otherwise we’d be debating for years whether the oxford comma is truly necessary. (HINT: It is.)
Charles as a Writer
I have a knack for natural storytelling, a heart for strategy, and a contagious charisma that brings teams together. I am a never ending pit of ideas. I can craft copy to fit giant year-long national campaigns or write small intimate local ads that reference jokes only the “locals” understand. Writing copy is more than just persuading the reader to action. Good copy creates a lasting connection that makes the audience feel understood by the brand.
I treat copywriting, and creative as a whole, like a sport. You have to practice to get better and you have to stay up to date on all the best strategies to be competitive. I’ve embraced the use of AI in my work. However, I do not use AI to fully generate copy or to fully edit my work. I use AI as an assistant to re-format paragraphs, insert templates, help me lock down the perfect word that’s on the tip of my brain, or to push through writer’s block.
I am the writer, I am the voice, I am the creative. AI does not do my work. It is essentially a collaborative thesaurus, dictionary, and formatting tool that makes me more effective, more efficient, and more competitive.
I have experience using the following AI tools: ChatGPT, Jasper, CopyAI, and CreAItive.
